Applying to FutureScope

An overview of how to respond to a programme brief and start your acceleration journey.

How innovators can get involved

Join the community that’s driving change in the UK’s most critical industries. Technology innovators at all stages of maturity can apply for current programmes to access our market-leading expertise and facilities.

This is the typical application process for a FutureScope programme. Before you apply, please check the requirements, judging criteria, FAQs, and terms and conditions of the programme brief for more details.

Selection criteria

We use the following core criteria to assess applications, as well as programme-specific criteria which you will find in the brief.

Relevance to the programme

How you will tackle the challenges in the selected focus areas, and demonstrate effective implementation of the technologies being used.

Programme fit

How you would benefit from being selected for the programme, and that you meet minimum requirements.

Growth potential

How well you can demonstrate the future potential of your product or solution.

Business strategy

Clear articulation of your revenue model, who your customers are, key acquisition channels, and go-to-market strategy.

Ability to execute

How well you can show that you (and your team) have the experience and skills necessary to consistently develop, deliver and commercialise your solution.

The application process may vary from programme to programme, so remember to check the details (including requirements, judging criteria, and terms and conditions).

Register your interest

When you see a programme that you wish to apply for, check that you meet its specific requirements, which will be included in the description.

Register your details using the online form provided, and we’ll send you a confirmation email with a link to your application form.

Complete the application form

Make sure you complete all the relevant sections, and submit the form before the closing date and time.

Applications are judged and shortlisted

Once the deadline has passed, we assess all the applications we receive against the criteria, and compile a shortlist for the interview stage.

Interviews

We usually invite shortlisted applicants to an interview with the programme team. In some cases, you may be invited to a pitch day to share your proposal for assessment.

Successful applicants join the cohort

Successful applicants will need to sign a programme agreement, and will then join the programme cohort to become FutureScope participants.
